Kindred Spirit® Ware’s oak is known for its slender, columnar structure, reaching only six feet in width at maturity. It produces one-inch-long, oval acorns among rounded, lobed, dark green leaves that turn reddish orange in the fall. This hybrid cultivar, selected at the University of Missouri, is a cross between Quercus bicolor swamp white oak and Quercus robar ‘Fastigiata’ columnar English oak. It prefers acidic soil in full sun and is an excellent specimen tree.
